Drawer not responding

The warming drawer cannot be operated.

ESW 5XXX: The warming drawer is not immediately ready to use. After opening the warming drawer, the electronic module adjusts to the ambient light within 3 seconds. The appliance can only be operated when the warming drawer has been pulled out for longer than 3 seconds.

Pull out the warming drawer.

Wait at least 3 seconds.

If the appliance still cannot be operated after waiting 5 seconds, contact Miele Customer Service or book a repair appointment directly online.

The warming drawer is connected to the coffee machine. CVA mode enables the warming drawer to be operated via the socket of a coffee machine. If the coffee machine is programmed for a switch-on time, the warming drawer is automatically switched on 30 minutes beforehand.

If CVA mode is activated on the warming drawer, the following functions are deactivated:

  • Operating mode

  • Operating time

  • Safety switch-off

To deactivate CVA mode on the warming drawer, switch it off using the  On/Off sensor control.

Touch the  Time display sensor control.

Then touch the  On/Off sensor control.

Continue to touch both sensor controls until all symbols have gone out.
