u_ is displayed for a cooking zone on the induction hob.
Place a suitable item of cookware on the cooking zone that you have switched on.
Suitable cookware includes:
Stainless steel cookware with a magnetic base
Enamelled steel cookware
Cast iron

Stainless steel cookware without a magnetic base
Aluminium, copper
Ceramic glass/ceramic, earthenware
If you are not sure if a pot or pan is suitable for induction hobs, you can carry out the test described below. Hold a magnet to the base of the pan. If the magnet sticks, the crockery is suitable.
To ensure optimum use of the cooking zone, select a pot or pan that is large enough to fill the space between the innermost and outermost cooking zone markings. If the pot is smaller than the innermost marking, the induction process will not work. The cooking zone will behave as if no cookware has been placed on it.
