Degrease brew unit not starting

The Degrease brew unit maintenance programme does not start on the coffee machine. On completion of the steps, the following message remains visible on the display: Remove water container and brew unit. Clean the inside of the appliance. Rinse the brew unit manually and fit it with a tablet in it. The maintenance programme does not continue.

The steps for removing and refitting the drip tray have not been carried out in the correct order.

If you remove the drip tray, you must proceed in the following order for both removal and refitting:

  1. Remove the water container.

  2. Remove the brew unit.

  3. Remove the drip tray.

  4. Refit the drip tray.

  5. Fit the brew unit with a tablet in it.

  6. Fit the water container.
